If you are still choosing your summer holiday destination, and it happens to be Dubai, you have chosen well. With its stunning architecture, world-class shopping, and vibrant nightlife, Dubai is the right place to spend your summer holidays. It is scorching hot, but hey, summer is supposed to be that way. So, grab your suitcase and have some fun in the sun!
If you have prepared your things-to-see list, and Al Seef is not on it, you will surely want to add it. You cannot leave Dubai without visiting its historic waterfront. In fact, you should start your journey in the heart of the city: ‘where the old meets the new’.

Why visit Al Seef?
Al Seef is a vibrant waterfront destination located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a carefully designed district that seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern amenities. Al Seef is situated along the Dubai Creek, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the city’s rich heritage and culture.

In Arabic, Al Seef means coast/shore, and it honors the City’s maritime roots and ever-evolving multi-national culture. The design of the area pays homage to the UAE’s unique heritage.

The district has traditional Arabian architecture, reminding you of Dubai’s past. Walking through the narrow alleyways and streets feels like stepping back in time.

Where is Al Seef?
Al Seef is located in the Al Fahidi Historical neighbourhood along Dubai Creek. Al Fahidi is one of the oldest inhabited areas in Dubai, and is home to several important cultural sites, including the Al Fahidi Fort. The neighbourhood is known for its traditional architecture and narrow streets. Also, Dubai Creek was once famed for its coastal pearl diving, and Al Seef celebrates that legacy.

To reach Al Seef, it is easiest to take the metro. Get off at Burjuman metro station on the red line. Al Seef is a short walk from there.
What to do in Al Seef?
Al Seef is not just a place of architectural beauty. You will find it a perfect spot for recreational activities.
Take a stroll
You can stroll along the promenade, enjoying the stunning views of the creek and the traditional wooden dhows sailing by.

Ride an abra
Also, abra rides are an excellent way to experience the city and its rich heritage without the hustle and bustle of the modern world. These boats have been a part of the city’s heritage for centuries and offer a serene way to soak up its beauty.

Visit the souk
Be sure to explore the Al Seef Heritage Souk and take your time to haggle with the friendly shopkeepers and find unique souvenirs to take back home.

The district boasts a variety of shops, boutiques, and art galleries, where you can find unique handcrafted items, souvenirs, and local artwork.

Time to eat
If you are a foodie, you will love Al Seef. From authentic Emirati dishes to international flavours, there is something to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. This time, I went for an early evening coffee at Café Trucillo. It is a peaceful spot to relax by the creek.

Where to stay in Al Seef?
It’s no secret that I love staycations. It is a great way to discover the city’s neighborhoods. I loved strolling through the tiny alleys in Al Seef and taking a moment to myself on the beautiful promenade.
Three Hilton hotels are conveniently located at the Al Seef waterfront destination. I chose Hampton by Hilton Dubai Al Seef this time. It is a 3-star property with free breakfast, comfy beds, and all the amenities you need. It’s perfect for exploring the city’s historic and cultural sites at an affordable rate.
I had a deep and restful sleep, and also made my plan for the next day, with no help from Google. Just refer to the ceiling, and the map will guide you.
Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef is right next door. If you are looking for an authentic Dubai experience, check out Al Seef Heritage Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton. The two are on my list for another getaway.
Conclusion
Don’t miss out on Al Seef’s charm. Take a stroll down winding alleyways, eat mouth-watering food, and learn about the stories of a bygone era. Take a break and appreciate the stunning waterfront views. Relax and take in the beauty of this timeless destination.
