It is February. While the rest of the world lives through dark, rainy and cold days, Dubai enjoys another kind of winter – it is very much sunny, honey! Indeed, the mild winter climate in Dubai is just right for those who crave some winter sun, making it a highly sought-after destination for a winter holiday. Shopping sprees, delicious food, and days spent lounging in the sun — what’s not to love?
Now, let’s talk gardens. The gardens are one of my favourite spots in the city. Even the parks look like gardens in Dubai. In fact, Dubai is a garden by itself – a garden of wonders, if I may! From the exotic Miracle Garden to the gleaming Glow Garden and the colourful Butterfly Garden. All three attractions are worth a visit.
Let’s explore the Dubai Butterfly Garden where a feast for the senses awaits at every corner.

What to See in the Dubai Butterfly Garden
Butterflies remind me of spring, the kind of spring Vivaldi musically created in his violin concerto.
Vivid, colorful and full of delicate creatures dancing in the air. Can you relate? Let’s explore the wonders of these beautiful flutterbies at the Dubai Butterfly Garden.
1. The Butterfly Museum
Upon entering the Butterfly Garden, you walk through the Butterfly Museum where stunning artworks created by real butterflies please your eyes. You can admire the unique beauty of these creations, as no two butterflies create the exact same masterpiece.

2. Explore the Domes
In the next step of your journey, you are greeted by the beautiful dancing creatures. The garden contains ten domes divided into zones. Each zone provides a climate-controlled environment for the butterflies. This ensures they stay in a comfortable climate that mimics their natural habitat.
There are 15,000 butterflies of over 50 different types in different sizes and colors. The sight of these winged creatures fluttering around you is just incredible.

3. Meet the Butterflies in the Gazebos
Watch the butterflies land on your hand as you sit in the gazebos. Here, you can experience the beauty of nature up close and personal.
A butterfly’s favourite fruit is ripe fruit, such as oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, apples, and bananas. Here you can watch how they feed themselves. They delicately sip the sweet nectar with their long proboscis, a type of mouthpart specifically adapted for this purpose.

There are also informational boards located in the gazebos with an overview of the different butterfly species.

Make sure you meet the Atlas Moth before you leave the gazebo. This gentle giant is truly stunning. With its beautiful colours and mesmerizing wings, the moth is a perfect photo opportunity. Don’t miss out on this amazing chance to capture its beauty!

4. Don’t Skip the Koi Pond
The pond is one of the most favourite spots for kids because there are a lot of colourful koi fish in it. The koi fish have become a source of wonder and fascination for children, as they marvel at their vibrant colours and graceful swimming. You can’t skip a selfie here.

5. Visitor Educational Area
The aim of the Butterfly Garden is not only to entertain visitors but also to educate them about butterflies. Here, you get a chance to witness the life cycle of butterflies as well as gain an understanding of how they metamorphose.
A kids cinema with a wide selection of animations, butterfly-life cycle videos, and movies for young visitors completes the educational experience.

What to Eat in the Dubai Butterfly Garden
As your journey through this wonderful place draws to a close, don’t leave yet. Stop by Starbucks and enjoy a cup of coffee surrounded by the magical nature of the Dubai Butterfly Garden. If you feel a bit peckish, sandwiches are also available. And ice cream for the little ones too.

Or maybe visit the outdoor food kiosk and grab a bag of popcorn, and even nachos while enjoying the sunshine.

How To Reach Dubai Butterfly Garden?
The best way to reach the Dubai Butterfly Garden is by taking the Red Line of the Dubai Metro and getting off at Mall of the Emirates. Once there, take a taxi to get to the garden.
Conclusion
Visiting the Dubai Butterfly Garden is an ideal way to spend a lazy Sunday outdoors. Taking in the majestic beauty of the thousands of butterflies fluttering around the garden will make your day truly special.
